  2. 4 pieces$15.99$4.00 eachthe dearest piece here

What it is

Shaped like a drinks can: straight sides, a shoulder that narrows, a rolled rim. The body is the same 3 inches by 5.8 as the bamboo-lid cups, so it holds the same drink; what changes is the silhouette and what comes with it. Sets of 4 and sets of 8, each with a glass straw per glass plus 2 cleaning brushes. There is no lid and no ledge for one to sit on, and that is the trade for the shape.

$15.99 for four and $22.99 for eight puts a glass at $4.00 and $2.87, so the larger box saves $1.13 apiece. Real, and modest by the standards of this shelf, because the family stops at eight instead of running to 20. The two brushes matter more than a bundled accessory usually does: a glass straw is a narrow tube a dishwasher jet does not reach through, and a straw that cannot be cleaned quietly stops being used. Putting brushes in every box is the maker conceding that point in the packing list rather than in the copy.

In use

Fits: a cocktail or an iced drink where the glass is part of the look, and anyone who wants the straws without a wooden lid to look after. Does not fit: a desk. With no lid there is nothing over the top of the drink, which is the one job the bamboo-lid cups in this range do and this one does not.

What 9,544 ratings can and cannot tell you

4.8 across 9,544 ratings is the strongest pairing of score and sample on this site, and the two things a number like that genuinely reports are that the boxes arrive intact and that the shape sits well in a hand. It is silent on the straws, which is where a set like this fails over time — glass breaks when dropped, replacements get bought quietly, and none of that shows up in an average collected in the first weeks of ownership.

The average is the retailer’s own figure across every option in this family, not a score of ours, and no review is quoted or paraphrased anywhere on this site.

Questions about this one

Is there a lid?

No. The can profile has no rim ledge, so there is nothing for a lid to rest on. The bamboo-lid cups on the same shelf are the ones to buy if a cover is the point.

How long are the straws?

They are cut to the height of the glass, a little under 6 inches, so they stand about level with the rim instead of projecting several inches the way a generic straw does.

Can the whole set go in a dishwasher?

The glasses are ordinary drinking glass and a machine is normal for them. The straws are the part to do by hand with the brushes supplied, because a narrow tube does not clear in a machine.
